Related Links:Results Day One (PDF) Houston, Tex. – The No. 7 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's bowling team stands in 13th place out of 17 teams through one day of competition at the Stormin LadyJacks Classic hosted by Stephen F. Austin.
The Warhawks struggled on day one tallying a 2-4 record in six baker matches. UW-Whitewater's cumulative score of 5,580 was just 29 pins shy of Louisiana Tech University who is currently in 12th place.
Newly named No. 10 North Carolina A & T leads the tournament with a total of 6,128.
After opening the day with two straight victories over Monmouth University and Louisiana Tech in close matches. The Warhawks defeated Monmouth by a score of 977-900, and Louisiana Tech in a closer match 987-968. UW-Whitewater went on to drop their next four matches.
The Warhawks lost to the No. 1 Arkansas State University by a score of 865-981. In their next match against Texas Southern they lost by a score of 870-939.
UW-Whitewater dropped their next two matches by a total of 27 pins combined. In their fifth match of the day against No. 8 Stephen F. Austin the final match score was 903-928. In the final match of the first day the Warhawks lost to No. 4 Sam Houston State in the closest match of the day 978-980.
