Bowling sits in Second Place after Day One of Crusader Classic

The No. 9 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team sits in second place out of six teams after the first day of competition at the Valparaiso Crusader Classic in Valparaiso, Ind.
 
The Warhawks tallied a 3-2 record on the opening day of five-game baker matches. UW-Whitewater's cumulative score of 4,463 was a 132 pins shy of No. 5 ranked McKendree University who is currently in first place with 4, 595 total pins.
 
After opening the day with a victory over No. 25 Elmhurst College 782-939, UW-Whitewater was downed by No. 5 McKendree in a close match 913-897.
 
The Warhawks bounced back with a victory over Maryville University 742-831. UW-Whitewater lost another close match to No. 21 Valaparaiso 908-858, but responded with a victory to close out the day over Aurora University 793-938.
