The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team went on the road to face UW-Stevens Point in a WIAC conference match up.
The Warhawks (7-0) started off strong and took a 3-0 advantage sweeping doubles competition.
Alicia Beck (Bismarck, ND/St. Mary's Central) and
Jillian Wallace (Crystal Lake, IL/Central) who are coming off an ITA Doubles Title won their match 8-2 at the No. 1 position.
Bridgid McGuire (Slinger/Slinger) and
Ashley Miller (Racine/Union Grove) teamed up for an 8-3 win at the number two slot. Sophomore Alex Talyansky and freshman
Gabi Kitchell (Wausau, Wis./D.C. Everest) finished the sweep with an 8-1 win at the No. 3 slot.
At No. 1 singles, Kitchell was victorious winning her match 6-1, 6-2. McGuire playing at the No. 2 singles position won her match 6-2, 6-2. Talyansky won her match by a score of 6-1, 6-0 at the number three position.
Wallace (No. 4) and Beck (No. 5) both won their matches by a score of 6-0, 6-0. Miller who was playing at the No. 6 slot today won her match 6-1, 6-0 to wrap up the sweep by a score of 9-0.
The Warhawks will be back in action next Tuesday, October 6th against UW-Oshkosh at 4 p.m. on the Wangerin Courts.
