Related Links:Results (PDF) The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's swimming and diving teams both won their WIAC Conference opener against UW-Oshkosh in the Williams Center.
The men's team defeated UW-Oshkosh 145-72, while the women's team won 129-100.
Freshman
Jonathan Jaworski (Waukesha, Wis./South) highlighted the Warhawk men' showing, finishing first in 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.41. Jaworski also placed first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.90. Sophomore
Steven Missak (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) took first in 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:50.00. Freshman
Sam Douglass (Grafton, Wis./Cedarburg) won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:04.83.
Senior Keefur Kuhl won the 3-meter dive with a score of 211.43. Kuhl placed fourth in the 1-meter dive with a score of 179.33.
On the women's side, junior
Sarah Arteaga (Greenfield/Whitnall) highlighted the Warhawks with two first place finishes. Arteaga won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:14.64, in the 100-yard freestyle she won with a time of 56.05. Freshman
Erin Hawker (Chanhassen, Minn./Hutchinson) and
Vada Williams (La Crescent, Minn./Holmen-Aquinas-Onalaska (Wis.)) both placed first in the 200-yard freestyle and 50-yard freestyle. Hawker finished the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.75, while Williams finished with a time of 25.77 in the 50-yard freestyle.
Senior
Sierra Becker (River Falls, Wis./River Falls) won both of the diving events this evening, she scored a 246.60 in the 1-meter dive, while scoring a 250.05 in the 3-meter dive.
UW-Whitewater will be back in action next Saturday Nov. 21st as they take on UW-Stevens Point at 1 p.m. at the UW-Stevens Point Aquatics Center.
