The No. 1/7 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team posted its second straight day with a 3-2 record in five traditional matches against nationally ranked opponents Saturday at the FDU New Jersey Jamboree in New Brunswick, N.J.
 
The Warhawks rank ninth out of 26 in the team standings entering Sunday's Baker matches. UW-Whitewater will compete in a consolation bracket Sunday as the No. 9 seed.
 
After consecutive setbacks against No. 2 Arkansas State and fourth-ranked Fairleigh Dickinson, the Warhawks closed the day with three straight victories, defeating No. 15 Valparaiso, No. 11 Maryland Eastern Shore and No. 3 Stephen F. Austin State.
 
Sophomore Sarah Paasch (Sheboygan, Wis./Sheboygan) was UW-Whitewater's top performer in each of the first two matches with scores of 214 and 193, respectively.
 
Junior Amanda Van Duyn (Kenosha/Kenosha Bradford) was the leading scorer in the next two matches, posting two of the three highest scores of the day with a 226 and a 224.
 
Senior Lindsay Rusch (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) recorded the best score of the day in the team's finale with a 269. She ranks 24th in the individual standings with an average of 201.2 for the weekend.
 
Van Duyn is 25th with a 200.6, and junior Taylor Hoppe (Rockford, Ill./Thomas Jefferson) is 32nd with an average of 196.7.
