Box Score The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team swept UW-Oshkosh 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-20) to hand the Titans their first loss of the season. The Warhawks improve to 13-5 and 2-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference while the visiting Titans fall to 15-1 and 1-1 in league play.
The Warhawks pounded down 20 kills in the first set hitting .390 as a team. Senior right side

UW-Whitewater took an 11-6 lead in the set to force the first Oshkosh timeout of the match. The Warhawks extended the lead to six, 19-13, for their largest lead of the set. UW-Oshkosh closed the gap to 20-17 when head coach

Sydney Toon (Madison/Middleton) and Feiertag hammered down two kills apiece and senior middle blocker
Kristen Ruchti (Brodhead/Brodhead) registered the final point of the set with a kill to give the Warhawks a 1-0 lead in the match.
UW-Whitewater got it done on the defensive side of the net in set two. The Warhawks tallied all of their blocks in the match in the second set. Sabey added four kills and two blocks to her match totals while Ruchti paired on three blocks.
The teams traded points to open the second set. With the score 11-10 in favor of the Warhawks, UW-Whitewater rattled off seven of the next eight points to extend the lead to 18-11. The Warhawks, with all of the momentum on their side, cruised to a 25-15 win to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
UW-Oshkosh took an early lead in set three, 4-1, but the Warhawks battled back to knot the score at 7-7. The teams traded points until the Warhawks went on a 5-1 run to take a 14-10 lead. The Titans narrowed the gap once again to 19-18 but three UW-Oshkosh miscues gave UW-Whitewater a 22-18 lead and put the match out of reach.
Feiertag pounded down a kill for point 23 followed by a huge hit off the hand of Pfeifer to force match point. Senior setter
Kim Frei (West Bend/West Bend West) pushed a pass from junior defensive specialist
Jaclyn Krizka (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah) into the middle of the court in "no man's land" for the final kill of the match.
The Warhawks hit .301 in the match with 49 kills in 113 attempts. The defense held the Titans to a .115 attack percentage and just 29 kills in the contest.
Feiertag led UW-Whitewater with 12 kills hitting .476. Sabey added 11 kills and Pfeifer registered a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs.
Frei dished out 41 of the team's 46 assists and senior libero
Kelsey Nobilio (Johnsburg, IL/Johnsburg) led the Warhawks in the backcourt with 15 digs.
Boudreau noted the win was a complete team effort. "This was the most cohesive our team has been on the court all season," said Boudreau. "This win was a complete team effort and we couldn't be more proud of our team and their performance tonight."
The Titans were one of just two teams to remain unbeaten in Division III heading into Friday's match. The other, Hope College, is now the lone undefeated team in the division.
UW-Whitewater will host Wheaton College Saturday at 2 p.m. in Russell Arena.
