Lexie Sondgeroth (Rochelle, IL/Township) won the 200 meter dash and the long jump to lead the Warhawks at the UW-Platteville Invitational Saturday.  Sondgeroth's leap of 5.97m (19' 7") is the best in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and the country, so far this season.  Her time of 24.68 in the 200 is also first in the WIAC and third in the nation.

Shelby Mahr (Boyd/Stanley-Boyd) also snagged a first place finish with a distance of 50.26m (164' 11") in the hammer throw.  That distance is first in the WIAC and sixth in the country so far this year.  Mahr also added a third place finish in the discus and the shot put.  In the discus she recorded a throw of 42.06m (138'), a distance that ranks second in the WIAC.  In the shot put she tallied a distance of 14.16m (46' 5.5"), third best in the WIAC.

Melanie Pilon (Waukesha/South) won the pole vault with a height of 3.65m (11' 11.75").  That is a season best for UW-W and the best height thus far this season in the WIAC.

Amanda Brom (Jefferson/Jefferson) and Candice Wayne (West Bend/West) notched third place finishes for the Warhawks.  Brom recorded a WIAC best time of 2:13.52 in the 800 meter run and Wayne crossed the finish line in 1:06.05 in the 400 meter hurdles to notch the third best time in the WIAC.

UW-W added a fourth place finish in the discus by Genny Rose Stringer (Assumption, IL/Assumption), a fifth place finish in the triple jump by Aisha Coleman (Janesville/Craig), four seventh place finishes; one in the long jump by Megan Linse (Jefferson/Jefferson), another in the discus by Amanda Strupp (Slinger/Slinger), the third in the hammer throw by Bethany Neuberger (Denmark/Denmark), and the fourth in the 400 meter hurdles by Meredith Heller (Hales Corners/Whitnall); and one eighth place finish by Amy Miskowicz (Woodstock, IL/Marion Central Catholic) in the shot put.

UW-W will travel to Rock Island, Illinois Thursday for the Augustana Women's Invitational and Multi-Event.
