ELKHORN, Wis.- The UW-Whitewater women's tennis team dropped its fall opener to regionally-ranked Hope, 7-2, Friday at the Four Lakes Athletic Club in Elkhorn.

After Hope swept the doubles matches to go into singles with a 3-0 advantage, Alexandra Bayliss (Sheboygan/North) took first singles, 7-6 (10-8), 6-4, for UW-W's first point. Amy Upthagrove (Muskego/Muskego) earned a hard fought victory at fifth singles, taking her match to three sets but walking away with a 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 win.
 
The Warhawks are now 10-1 and will travel to Rock Island, Ill. to take on Coe on March 15.
