After opening up with a 3-0 lead after doubles play, the UW-Whitewater women's tennis team lost to tenth ranked DePauw 5-4 Monday in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The Warhawks are on their annual spring trip where they will play five matches over the course of three days.

Alexandra Bayliss (Sheboygan/North) and
Jackie Vitale (Roselle, IL/Lake Park) improved to 14-5 as a pair as they topped Caroline Emhardt and Maggie MacPhail 8-6 at one doubles. The tandem is 9-1 when playing in the number one doubles spot and have won three straight matches. Bayliss added a win at number one singles taking down MacPhail 6-3, 6-1 to improve to 19-3 in singles play this season.
Megan Humphreys (Kenosha/Tremper) paired with
Amy Upthagrove (Muskego/Muskego) for a win at two doubles while
Jessica Vitale (Roselle, IL/Lake Park) teamed up with
Erika Williams (Burnsville, MN/Lakeville South) for a win at three doubles. Each pair has won three straight matches.
The Warhawks return to the court Tuesday at 8:00 am Eastern for a match against Carleton and then again 1:30 pm for a match with Centre. Carleton is ranked 28th in the country by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
