WHITEWATER, Wis. - Lexie Sondgeroth (Rochelle, IL/Township) led the Warhawks in the first day of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships in Kachel Fieldhouse Friday with a WIAC meet record and individual title in the long jump. Her leap of 19-10.25 is the best distance posted in Division III this season. UW-W is fourth after the first day of competition in the league championship.

Melanie Pilon (Waukesha/South) added a second place finish in the pole vault with a height of 11-7.
Shelby Mahr (Boyd/Stanley-Boyd) finished third in the shot put with a throw of 46-1.5 and teammate
Amy Miskowicz (Woodstock, IL/Marion Central Catholic) added points to the team total finishing eighth with a distance of 41-8.5 in the event.
Amanda Brom (Jefferson/Jefferson) added five points to the team total with a fourth place finish in the mile after crossing the line in 5:03.83.
Megan Linse (Jefferson/Jefferson) was fourth in the long jump behind Sondgeroth with a leap of 17-11.
In the sole relay Friday, the Warhawk distance medley relay team of
Lauren Mosher (Sleepy Hollow, IL/Dundee Crown),
Elizabeth Klicker (Cary, IL/Cary-Grove),
Megan Buse (Franklin/Oak Creek) and
Amy Kahl (Huntley, IL/Huntley) crossed the line fifth in 12:53.60.
Eight events were scored in the first day of competition with UW-La Crosse leading the team standings with 80 points. UW-Oshkosh sits in second with 62 followed by UW-Stevens Point (47), UW-Whitewater (38), UW-Platteville (28.5), UW-Stout (21), UW-Eau Claire (17.5), UW-River Falls (17) and UW-Superior (1).
In the prelims Friday, Sondgeroth tied her school record mark in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.74 to qualify second in the event. Linse was the top qualifier for UW-W in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.11.
The WIAC Championship will wrap-up Saturday.
