The UW-Whitewater baseball team, ranked tenth in
the D3baseball.com poll, lost to
Illinois Wesleyan University, in the "others receiving votes" category of the poll, 4-0 Saturday in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Wesleyan scored all four runs in the fourth inning, when they combined five singles, a Warhawk error and a sacrifice.
IWU junior Jeff Johnson pitched the complete game shutout to pick up his first win of the season.
Justin Lambert (Mt. Horeb/Mt. Horeb) went the first six innings for UW-W,
Justin Mortensen (Hartland/Arrowhead) the next two, and
Curtis Morgan (Green Lake/Green Lake) closed out the game with an inning of work for the Warhawks. Lambert struck out two, walked one and hit one batter.
Catcher
Mike Mierow (Brookfield/Central) led UW-W batters with a 2x3 day, with first baseman
Marty Herum (River Falls/River Falls) contributing a double and a walk in his four at bats. Titan third baseman Johnathan Erickson went 2x4 to lead his team.
UW-W is 3-2 this season. Illinois Wesleyan is 5-2.
UW-Whitewater's
first home appearance of the season will be March 30 at 1:00, when Ripon College visits
Prucha Field at Jim Miller Stadium on
the north end of the UW-W campus.
