WHITEWATER, Wis. -- The UW-Whitewater men's swimming and diving team defeated WIAC opponent UW-Oshkosh, 140-80, Friday night at the Williams Center Pool.

UW-W started the meet by taking the top two spots in the 200 medley relay, with the team of
Joe Devroy (Kenosha/Bradford),
James Rodney (Barrington, IL/Barrington),
Dan Bielski (Chanhassen, MN/Minnetonka ) and
Ben Wynn (Glendale/Nicolet) finishing first in a time of 1:41.41. Wilson Bradley,
Spencer Twining (Janesville/Parker), Raymond Polgar and
Kyle Amundson (Janesville/Janesville Parker) were second with a time of 1:45.67.

Anthony Heilberger (Sheboygan/South) followed that by winning the 1,000 freestyle in a time of 11:04.01.
Alex Gidlow (Aurora, IL/Metea Valley) (1:50.19), and
Dan Bielski (Chanhassen, MN/Minnetonka ) (1:52.56) went one-two in the 200 freestyle.
Ben Wynn (Glendale/Nicolet) won the 50 free in a season best time of 22.46 and
Josh Kanute (Geneva, IL/Marmion Academy) (22.80) and
James Rodney (Barrington, IL/Barrington) followed (23.61) made it a sweep of the top three in the event finishing second and third respectively.
Ryan Stuart (Frankfort, IL/Lincolnway East) wrapped-up the freestyle events by winning the 500 in a time of 5:03.88.

John Devroy (Kenosha/Bradford) won the 200 IM in a time of 2:02.40 with Jacob Shackelford right behind him in 2:02.94, a season best for Shackelford. Â Rodney won the 100 free (50.87) and Bielski swam a season-best, 55.00, in the 100 backstroke.

In the dive well, Glenn Brinkman won the three meter event with a score of 252.20 and one meter 265.35.

The team of Kanute,
Alex Carroll (Downers Grove, IL/Downers Grove North), Stuart and
Andrew Sterger (Fergus Fall, MN/Fergus Falls) finished the meet by winning the 200 free relay in a time of 1:33.72.
