Amanda Brom (Jefferson/Jefferson) and Shelby Demos (Janesville/Parker) were named this week's Walmart Athletes of the Week. In addition, on Tuesday Demos was named the WIAC Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Brom won the 800 meter run at the Augustana Women's Invite Friday, April 20^th, with a personal best of 2:13.13. Her time is currently number three in the WIAC and thirteenth in the NCAA Division III.
 
Demos won the high jump at the Augustana Invitational Friday, with a jump of 5-8.75 meters. This breaks her own UW-Whitewater school record in the event and ranks her first in the WIAC and second in the NCAA Division III. Demos also placed first in the 100 meter hurdles with a season best time of 14.98.
  
Some top runners with travel to Des Moines, IA for the Drake Relays Thursday and Friday, April 26-27.  The rest of the Warhawk teams will host the Drake Alternative Saturday at 11:30 at UW-W's Foster Track.  Foster Track is west of Perkins Stadium and northwest of Williams Center on campus.  Free parking is adjacent to the track.
