The Warhawks finished the 2012 Music City Classic in Smyrna, Tennessee in ninth place out of twenty teams Sunday. The Warhawks found themselves in ninth place at the conclusion of each day of competition.
Final results
In their first match Sunday the Warhawks defeated Prairie View in five in a best-of-seven series. The Warhawks won the first three games and then the fifth game to advance to the next round.
In the second round the Warhawks went seven games but lost to Stephen F. Austin. The Warhawks had a 3-1 lead after four games but couldn't pull off the upset over the seventh ranked team.
In their third, and final, match on Sunday the Warhawks defeated host Vanderbilt University in four straight games to capture ninth place.
Nebraska, who was seeded third entering Sunday, won the MCC title defeating Arkansas State in seven games.
This concludes regular season team competition for UW-W.
Katie Zwiefelhofer (Racine/Washington Park) will compete again in the United States Bowling Congress national singles competition in Lincoln, Nebraska in late May. Zwiefelhofer qualified for the tournament by finishing fourth in the USBC sectional in Smryna, Tennessee, to earn a berth in the USBC national singles competition in Lincoln, Nebraska in late May.
