UW-W Remains in Second After Day Two of MCC

After day two of the Music City Classic Saturday in Smyrna, Tennessee, the UW-Whitewater bowling team remains in ninth place out of 20 teams.  The Warhawks entered the day in ninth after six Baker matches on Friday.  Jessica Walter (Columbus/Columbus) led the way for UW-W on day two with a 203.3 average in three games.

The Warhawks opened Saturday's competition with a 12 pin loss to Adelphi University.  Katie Zwiefelhofer (Racine/Washington Park) and Dayna Mackie (Glendale Heights, IL/Glendale Heights) both eclipsed 200 in the match with Zwiefelhofer contributing a 205 and Mackie a 203.

In the second match the Warhawks topped Monmouth University 888-872.  Zwiefelhofer again led the way for UW-W with a 192.

The Warhawks dropped their third match to Kutztown 940-894 and Zwiefelhofer turned in a team high 210 in the match.

Jessica Walter (Columbus/Columbus) rolled a 232, her season high, in match four against Farleigh Dickinson but the Warhawks lost the match by 15 pins, 1005-990.  Michelle Wallenburg turned in a 206 for the Warhawks in the match.

Saint Francis College topped the Warhawks in match five 905-849, but Wallenburg turned in the high score for the Warhawks in that match with a 226.

UW-W lost 978-945 in their sixth and final match of the day against Sam Houston.  Walter led the way for UW-W with a 220 while Zwiefelhofer chipped in a 208.

The Warhawks are 653 pins behind front runner Arkansas State.  Competition concludes on Sunday.
