The UW-Whitewater bowling team is in ninth place out of 20 teams after day one of the Columbia 300 Music City Classic in Smyrna, Tennessee hosted by Vanderbilt University on Friday.  Competition continues on Saturday and concludes on Sunday.

The Warhawks played six Baker matches on the first day of competition and went 2-4.  The Warhawks defeated Tulane in their first Baker match by 118 pins and Alabama A&M in their fifth match by 57 pins.  UW-W dropped matches to Alabama Birmingham, Nebraska, Stephen F. Austin, and New Jersey City.

UW-W rolled seven games over 200 for the day and is 412 pins behind first place Central Missouri.

Saturday will include six games of traditional team bowling.
