The Warhawk women tallied two provisional qualifiers, two school records and two season bests in the final day of the
Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championship in Menomonie, Wisconsin Saturday. UW-W finished fourth.
Shelby Demos (Janesville/Parker) bettered her 60 meter hurdles time, again breaking the school record she set Friday, finishing third in 9.01. Demos won the high jump competition Friday.
JoLyn Owen (Middleton/Middleton) totaled 3,176 points in the pentathlon for second place, after her seventh in the high jump Friday.
Kristen Heitsman (Janesville/Parker),
Courtney Windisch (St. Charles, IL/St. Francis),
Kelsey Jones (Janesville/Parker) and
Lexie Sondgeroth (Rochelle, IL/Township) broke the UW-W 4x200 relay record with a fourth place finish in 1:45.76. The previous record of 1:46.02 (Ross, Brown, Borchert and Meier) was set in 1997.
Sondgeroth added team points in three more events including a fourth place finish in the triple jump with a season best distance of 36-08.25, a fifth place 200 meter dash time of 26.08 and she crossed the line in seventh in 8.05 in the 60 meter dash.
Beth Dreikosen (Sheboygan/North) also made contributions to UW-W's team points in more than one event, finishing eighth in the 200 meter dash in 26.44, and adding a team season best 400 meter dash time of 59.14, crossing the finish line fifth.
Amanda Brom (Jefferson/Jefferson) was the top Warhawk finisher in the 800 meter run, coming in third with a time of 2:17.03, and
Alyssa Duncan (East Troy/East Troy) stopped the clock at 10:37.08 in the 3000 meter run, a fourth place time. The UW-W 4x400 relay team was clocked in 4:08.30 in seventh place. The team included Dreikosen, Brom,
Stephanie Noskowiak (Sun Prairie/Sun Prairie), and
Simone Koenen (Burlington/Burlington).
UW-Oshkosh won the women's title with 152 points. UW-Eau Claire and UW-La Crosse took second and third with 121 and 108 points respectively followed by UW-Whitewater in fourth (84), UW-Stevens Point in fifth (67), UW-River Falls in sixth (60), UW-Stout in seventh (52), UW-Platteville in eighth (43) and UW-Superior in ninth (15).
The Warhawks will compete in three "last chance qualifier" meets before the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Indoor Championships. The first is hosted by UW-Madison Friday, March 2 and the final two are set for Saturday, March 3 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin (UW-Stevens Point) and Ames, Iowa (Iowa State University).

Shelby Demos (Janesville/Parker) broke her own school record by one-hundredth of a second in the preliminaries of the 60 meter hurdles, crossing the line second in 9.05, to lead the Warhawks in the first day of competition in the
Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship in Menomonie, Wisconsin Friday. UW-W is in third place after day one. The championship will conclude Saturday with events scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.

Demos also recorded a first place height in the high jump at 5-09.75. Two teammates added points in the high jump, with
Lauren Strohmaier (Genoa, IL/Kingston) fourth at 5-04.25 and
JoLyn Owen (Middleton/Middleton) tied for seventh with a height of 5-00.25.
Lexie Sondgeroth (Rochelle, IL/Township) took second place in the long jump with a distance of 17-08.25.
Loryn Kressin (Greenfield/Wisconsin Lutheran) added team points with a fifth place finish in the pole vault at 11-00.25, and
Shelby Mahr (Boyd/Stanley-Boyd) rounded out the scoring throwing the shot put 41-01.5 for sixth place.
After the first day of competition team scores were: UW-Oshkosh 59, UW-La Crosse 45, UW-Whitewater 36, UW-Stout 29, UW-Stevens Point 25, UW-Eau Claire 20, UW-River Falls 15, UW-Platteville 4, and UW-Superior 1.
The championships will conclude Saturday.
