The UW-Whitewater women's track team recorded firsts in four events and broke two school records in the Eastbay/Pointer Classic hosted by UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon. The Warhawks finished third out of twelve teams in the meet.

Shelby Demos (Janesville/Parker) led the Warhawk women with first place finishes in two events. Her 60 meter hurdle time of 9.06 bettered a provisional qualifying and school record time she recorded earlier this season. A 5-8.75 height in the high jump would be an automatic qualifying height ,but Demos has already set the bar higher this season.
Lauren Strohmaier (Genoa, IL/Kingston) took second in the high jump with a 5-03.25 in the event.
Loryn Kressin (Greenfield/Wisconsin Lutheran) vaulted 11-3.75 breaking the previous school pole vault record of 11-01.75 set by
Melanie Pilon (Waukesha/South) last season and taking fourth in the event.
Lexie Sondgeroth (Rochelle, IL/Township) posted the best long jump distance with a 17-03.25 for first. Teammate
Kelsey Jones (Janesville/Parker) recorded a distance of 15-11.75 and contributed a sixth place finish in the 200 meter dash in 27.15 to add to UW-W's total team points.
The 4x200 relay team that included
Kristen Heitsman (Janesville/Parker),
Courtney Windisch (St. Charles, IL/St. Francis), Jones and Sondgeroth clocked the best time at the meet, a 1:46.83 in the event.
Sondgeroth added to her accomplishments on the day with a team season best triple jump performance, registering 34-11.00 for second place.
Jill Hernke (Palmyra/Kettle Moraine) was also awarded points in the triple jump with a sixth place jump of 32-11.25.
The 4x400 relay team posted a UW-W season best time of 4:08.06 for third place. The team included
Beth Dreikosen (Sheboygan/North),
Stephanie Noskowiak (Sun Prairie/Sun Prairie),
Simone Koenen (Burlington/Burlington), and
Amanda Brom (Jefferson/Jefferson).
Dreikosen added a second in the 400 meter dash in 59.46, the best time recorded by Warhawk this season. Brom was right behind her teammate, coming in third with a 1:00.34.
Alyssa Duncan (East Troy/East Troy) posted a season best time in the one mile crossing the line in 5:15.61. Teammate
Janna Wise (Verona/Verona) added more points with her 5:25.57 for eighth place.

Paeton Wantuch (LaPorte, IN/LaPorte) in the 3000 (11:26.27, third),
Dana Landem (Batavia, IL/Batavia) in the 3000 (11:41, seventh), pole vaulters
Melanie Pilon (Waukesha/South) (10-04.00, sixth) and
Ryanne Bell (Boscobel/Boscobel) (10-4, seventh), and
Shelby Mahr (Boyd/Stanley-Boyd) in the shot put competition (39-11.50, fourth).
Team scores were: UW-Oshkosh 162.5, UW-Stevens Point 116, UW-Whitewater 113, UW-Eau Claire 66, St. Norbert College 50.5, UW-Stout 44, Coe College 29.5, Ripon College 23.5, Greater Milwaukee Track Club 14, Lawrence University 13, Wisconsin Lutheran College 10, and Concordia University 5.
The Warhawks will compete in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships Friday-Saturday, February 24-25 hosted by UW-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin.
