Kristen Heitsman (Janesville/Parker),
Shelby Demos (Janesville/Parker), and
Lauren Strohmaier (Genoa, IL/Kingston) won their events to headline UW-W's second place finish in the North Central College Quadrangular in Naperville, Illinois Saturday. North Central, seventh in the
Division III dual meet strength rating, won the meet with 236.5 points, followed by eighth-ranked UW-W with 146.5, Loras College 90, and Aurora University 67.

Heitsman won the 60 meter race in 8.20, Demos took first in the 60 hurdles in a season best time of 9.28, and Strohmaier went 5-3.75 to take first in the high jump.
Amy Miskowicz (Woodstock, IL/Marion Central Catholic) earned points in two events, taking fourth in the shot put at 38-0.75 and third in the weight throw at 44-4.25. Also accomplishing the double feat,
Beth Dreikosen (Sheboygan/North) placed second in the 200 (26.85) with a team season best time, and second in the 400, with her 1:00.58 another team season best.
Jill Hernke (Palmyra/Kettle Moraine) went 45-8.5, the best performance of the season for UW-W, in the weight throw for second place.
Miskowicz was part of the event that produced the most points for Whitewater. In addition to her fourth in the shot,
Shelby Mahr (Boyd/Stanley-Boyd) finished third at 38-2 and
Bethany Neuberger (Denmark/Denmark) ws fifth at 35-9.5.
Other top performances were turned in by
Stephanie Noskowiak (Sun Prairie/Sun Prairie), fourth in the 400 (1:03.12);
Kelsey Jones (Janesville/Parker), third in the 200 (27.85); and Amanda Brohm, third in the 800 with a team season best of 2:18.43. Also
Dana Landem (Batavia, IL/Batavia), second in the mile (5:50.41),
Alysha Rendflesh (South Milwaukee/South Milwaukee), fourth in the same event (5:52.08);
Janna Wise (Verona/Verona), second in the 3000 (11:14.47);
Loryn Kressin (Greenfield/Wisconsin Lutheran), second in the pole vault (10-11.75);
JoLyn Owen (Middleton/Middleton), third in the long jump (17-2), and
Jill Hernke (Palmyra/Kettle Moraine), fourth in the triple jump (32-11.25).
UW-W will host the Warhawk Classic Saturday, February 4 at 12:00 in the Kachel Fieldhouse.
