The Warhawks recorded three season bests on Friday and totaled 44 points, just eleven points behind the meet leader, UW-Oshkosh.

Behrendt's time in the 10,000 was the first season best for UW-W at the meet while a seventh place finish by the 4x800 relay team and a second place finish by Sara Poppe (Germantown/Kettle Moraine Lutheran) in the long jump were the other two.  The 4x800 relay team of Janna Wise (Verona/Verona), Megan Strandell (Oswego, IL/Oswego), Alyssa Duncan (East Troy/East Troy), and Lisa D'Alessio crossed the finish line in a time of 9:49.67.  Poppe jumped 18 feet and 5.25 inches to earn eight team points.

Behrendt's conference championship in the 10,000 is the fourth time in school history that a Warhawk runner has captured the title in this event.  The last runner to do so was Jennifer Rogers in 2007.  Stephanie Grieber is the other Warhawk runner to accomplish this feat, doing it twice, once in 1999 and again in 2000.

Madeline Roznos (Reedsburg/Reedsburg) and Mel Pilon (Waukesha/Waukesha South) also recorded second place finishes in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and the pole vault respectively.  Roznos recorded a time of 11:15.20 and Pilon propelled herself over the bar set at 11 feet and 5.75 inches to each earn eight more team points.

A fourth place finish by Jessa Luebke (Tomah/Tomah) in the hammer throw (167 feet and 10 inches), a seventh place finish by Loryn Kressin (Greenfield/Wisconsin Lutheran) in the pole vault (10 feet and 6 inches), and an eighth place finish by Megan Blake (Waukesha/Waukesha South) in the hammer throw (153 feet and 4 inches) also contributed to the team score.

Also on Friday, Shelby Demos (Janesville/Parker) and Simone Koenen (Burlington/Burlington) each qualified for the finals, which take place on Saturday, in their respective events.  Demos had the third fastest time in the 100 meter hurdles and Koenen recorded the ninth fastest time in the 400 meters.

The meet will wrap-up on Saturday beginning at 10:00 am.
