Shelby Demos (Janesville/Parker), Sara Poppe (Germantown/Kettle Moraine Lutheran) and Jessa Luebke (Tomah/Tomah) provisionally qualified for the 2011 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Track and Field Championship with their performances at the Wartburg Select Meet on Saturday in Waverly, Iowa. The women finished sixth in the fifteen team field.

Demos, a high jumper, leapt five feet six inches and finished in first place to go along with her provisional qualification. Poppe, provisionally qualified in the triple jump, also finished in first place in the event and recorded a distance of 38 feet and 6 inches. Luebke, provisionally qualified in the hammer throwing event, and took second with a distance of 159 feet and 8 inches.
Poppe and Madeline Roznos (Reedsburg/Reedsburg) earned more points for UW-W with first place finishes at the meet in the long jump (18-1.5) and in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (11:26.24), respectively.
The Warhawks will compete again on April 8 when they host the Rex Foster Open at the Rex Foster Track and Field facility in Whitewater. The meet is scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm.
