A touch here. An arm extension there. That was the margin of defeat for the UW-Whitewater men's swim team Saturday, in a 123-120 loss to UW-La Crosse Saturday in the Williams Center pool in Whitewater, Wisconsin.

Marcus Genrich (Janesville/Parker) led the Warhawks with two wins. He won the 200 individual medley in 2:03.04 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.91.
Other Warhawks to win their events included
Bill Stenavich (Brookfield/Central) in the 200 freestyle in 1:48.42,
Brogan Runion (Prairie Village, KS /Shawnee Mission East) won the 100 butterfly in 54.28, and
Andy Hanney (Grafton/Grafton) touched first in the 100 backstroke in 54.57.
Genrich, Stenavich, Runion and Hanney combined to win the 400 medley relay in 3:37.90.
Hanney added a second place finish in the 200 individual medley (2:03.30) to his contribution to the team point total, and Stenavich finished second in the 100 freestyle (48.13).
The Warhawks also recorded two season best performances.
Mason Kohlhapp (Hinsdale, IL/Muskego) compiled 175.11 points on the one meter board for a team season best, and
Nick Kehoe (Fort Atkinson/Fort Atkinson) totaled 134.4 points on the three meter board, also the best on the team this season.
Saturday's meet was the final tune-up before the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship, set for February 17-19 at the Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, Wisconsin.
