The UW-Whitewater bowling team went undefeated Sunday, 4-0, in a Wisconsin Collegiate Bowling Conference event in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Warhawks are 17-1 this season in the WCBC, and overall.
All of Sunday's competition was in the Baker format, which allows for multiple bowlers in a relay like event to compile a team score. UW-W defeated Carthage College 743-690, UW-W beat UW-Stout 726-495, UW-W beat UW-Oshkosh 674-604, and Whitewater topped UW-Green Bay 736-606.
UW-W rolled a 221 in the win over Stout, the team's second best Baker score of the season, and a 211 in the victory over Carthage. The women involved in the 221 included
Ashley Bell (Menomonee Falls/Menomonee Falls ),
Katie Kleinmaier (Dixon, IL/Dixon),
Michelle Wallenberg (Machesney Park, IL/Harlem),
Dayna Mackie (Glendale Heights, IL/Glendale Heights), and
Katie Zwiefelhofer (Racine/Washington Park). Wallenberg and Zwiefelhofer each contributed a pair of strikes to the team total.
UW-W will compete in the FDU New Jersey Jamboree, hosted by Fairleigh Dickinson University in Elmwood Park, New Jersey November 4-5-6. The meet will be Whitewater's first competition of the season against other varsity intercollegiate teams. All the teams, with the exception of UW-W, in the Wisconsin Collegiate Bowling Conference are club teams.
