Warhawks Ranked Sixth In ITA Standings

The UW-Whitewater women's tennis team is ranked sixth in the April 29 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Central top 15. The Warhawks were previously sixth in the April 13 rankings as well.

The Hawks have won four straight matches since the last rankings defeating Edgewood College 9-0 and Elmhurst College 9-0 on April 17 in Whitewater, UW-Stevens Point in the WIAC Final Four- NCAA Qualifier 6-0 on April 24 in Elkhorn, and UW-Eau Claire in the WIAC Championship 9-0 on April 24.

Along with team rankings, UW-W has players ranked in the top for singles and top for doubles. Kalla Schaefer (Madison/Madison Memorial) is ranked 11th in the top 25 singles. She is 18-6 in conference play this season and 19-7 overall. Michelle Daciolas (Roselle, IL/Lake Park) and Schaefer are tied for 15th in the top 15 doubles. As a partners they are 16-10 in conference play and 21-11 overall.

UW-W will compete next in the NCAA Regional round May 14-16. The site of competition is yet to be announced. Please check back later for further details.
