UW-Whitewater, fourth after day one and fourth after day two, used a strong final day to move in to third place in the final standings at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship.

And it took their best to do it. UW-W recorded five season best performances in six events to reach third place.
Bill Stenavich (Brookfield/Central) led the way with third place points in the 100 freestyle, 47.09.
Andy Hanney (Grafton/Grafton) earned a fourth place in the 200 backstroke in 1:55.22, and
Kyle Stoermer (Ozark, MO/Nixa) was another fourth, this time in the 1650 freestyle in 16:42.93.
Paul Ringer (Brookfield/East) placed sixth in the 200 butterfly in 2:02.90, and
Marcus Genrich (Janesville/Parker) took seventh in the 200 breaststroke in 2:13.27.
The Warhawks capped the meet with a third place in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:10.46, another team season best performance. That relay consisted of
Landon Joiner (Hinsdale, IL /South),
Eric Nord (Hales Corner/Whitnall),
Adam Altenburg (Watertown/Watertown), and Stenavich.
Final team scores were UW-Stevens Point 956, UW-La Crosse 786, UW-Whitewater 500, UW-Eau Claire 496, UW-Oshkosh 300, and UW-River Falls 155.
The WIAC Championship concludes the 2009-2010 season.
