The UW-Whitewater men's swimming and diving team opened the 2010-11 season with a 148-68 victory over Carroll University Friday at the Williams Center Pool in Whitewater. The Warhawks won 11 of the 12 events they entered.

Andy Hanney (Grafton/Grafton) collected two wins, one in the 100 yard freestyle (50.60), and another in the 1,000 yard freestyle (10:38.32).
Bill Stenavich (Brookfield/Central) also posted two individual wins, winning the 50 yard freestyle (22.77) and the 100 yard butterfly (56.61), to go along with a relay team win in the 200 yard freestyle relay (1:32.05).
Marcus Genrich (Janesville/Parker) posted two individual wins and two relay wins. His individual wins were in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:02.81) and the 200 yard individual medley (2:05.63), while his team wins were in the 200 yard freestyle relay (1:32.05) and the 200 yard medley relay (1:43.48).
Joining Stenavich and Genrich on the 200 yard freestyle relay team were
Derek Uselman (Middleton/Middleton), who also won the 200 yard freestyle (1:50.10), and
Jeff Kaletka (Mt. Horeb/Mt. Horeb). Joining Genrich on the 200 yard medley relay team were
Landon Joiner (Hinsdale, IL /South),
Nate Glover (Milton/Milton), and
Adam Altenburg (Watertown/Watertown).
Other winners for the 'Hawks included
Colton Gilmore (Brookfield/Central) in the 500 yard freestyle (5:05.25),
Alex Mikolajewski (Palatine, IL/William Fremd High School) in the 100 yard backstroke (59.18), and
Mason Kohlhapp (Hinsdale, IL/Muskego) in one meter diving scoring 83.30 points.
The Warhawks will compete again on Saturday when they travel to Oshkosh for a 1:00 meet.
