Late in the first half, Emily Gerber (DeForest/DeForest) gave UW-Whitewater the lead on a penalty kick.  Loras evened things up four minutes into the second half with a penalty kick of their own by Samantha Messacar.  Dolly Duffy gave Loras the lead from outside the goal box with 16 minutes remaining in the game and that was all the Duhawks needed.

Loras attempted four more shots than UW-Whitewater's 14, and both teams had six corner kick attempts.  Whitewater was whistled for seven fouls to Loras' 11.  Loras also added a yellow card late in the game.

Whitewater now falls to 1-1 and Loras is 1-1-1.

UW-W's next game is September 10 against Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois.  Their next home match is next Saturday, September 12, against UW-Superior at 1p.m.
