The Warhawks jumped out to a 6-1 lead to begin the first set before Wheaton called a timeout.  The 'Hawks extended their lead to 16-5 before Wheaton put together a run of their own.  The Thunder crept back to 18-11 before the Warhawks stole back the momentum to finish the set.

Set two saw the Warhawks lurch out to a nine point lead; a lead that never narrowed for the Thunder.  The set finished with a solo block by the Warhawks' Megan Peterson (Burlington/Burlington).

The final set was a bit closer to start, but had the same outcome; a Warhawk victory by double digits.

Melissa Zuleger (Little Chute/Little Chute) finished the match with a .824 attack percentage.  The percentage ranks her third in the UW-Whitewater record book for attack percentage in a match.  The minimum requirement to make the list is 15 attempts.  Zuleger had 14 kills on 17 attempts in the match with no errors.  Melinda Erickson holds the record with a .875 attack percentage.  She achieved that mark on October 31, 2000 against UW-Stevens Point.

Alyssa Bauer (Naperville, IL/Central) was solid defensively for UW-W, recording 17 digs in the match.  The Warhawks had 53 digs as a team.

The Warhawks play again on Saturday at noon against Bethel University.  The Warhawks defeated Bethel on Friday 3-0.
