Warhawks Defeat Carthage 7-2 in Season Opener

The UW-Whitewater women's tennis team started their season with a win this morning over Carthage College 7-2.

The Warhawks went 23-4 last season and made it to the second round of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III tournament before losing to Wheaton College. Sophomore, then freshman, earned a berth into the NCAA Division III singles tournament after being the first UW-W tennis player (male or female) to have thirty wins in a season.

UW-W is 1-0 after their first competition of the day. The Warhawks have another competition scheduled for 3:00 p.m. today against Illinois Wesleyan University at the Wangerin Courts in Whitewater.
