UW-Whitewater suffered its first loss of the season to a Division III opponent and saw its sixteen match win streak come to an end with a 9-0 loss to thirteenth ranked DePauw University Friday in the Midwest Invitational at the Nielsen Tennis Center in Madison. UW-W came in to the match ranked sixteenth in the poll of National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III teams conducted by the Intercollegiate Tennis Coaches Association.

UW-W is 19-2 this season, and now 19-1 against Division III teams. The Warhawks' last loss was September 11, a 5-4 decision to Division I UW-Milwaukee.
The Midwest Invitational is comprised of a field of eleven teams, eight of them ranked in the national Division III poll.
UW-W will face Coe College (IA), ranked twenty-second in the NCAA III poll, at 9:00 a.m. at Nielsen. Regardless of the results of that match Whitewater will play again at 3:30 against an opponent to be determined.
