UW-Whitewater split a doubleheader with the University of Saint Thomas late Friday night at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota, winning game one 5-4 and losing the "early morning cap" (as opposed to nightcap since the second game started after midnight) 9-2.

UW-Whitewater and Saint Thomas are both ranked in the Division III preseason ratings. The Warhawks are ranked fourth by D3baseball.com and fifth by Baseball America, while Saint Thomas is eighteenth in the D3baseball poll (Baseball America only does a top five).
Saint Thomas leads the all-time series with the Warhawks, 6-4. UW-Whitewater defeated UST 4-1 in the 2008 NCAA III regional in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
UW-Whitewater is 1-2 this season. The next action for the Warhawks will be in the warmer climes of Florida, beginning March 18. The first home game of the season is set for Tuesday, April 7 at 2:00, with Carroll University visiting Prucha Field for a doubleheader.
