Women's Tennis Wins Sixteenth in a Row, now 19-1

UW-Whitewater ran its win streak to sixteen in a row with a pair of shutouts Thursday, defeating Hamline University 9-0 and Hunter College 9-0 in Orlando, Florida.  The Warhawks are 19-1 overall this season, 19-0 against Division III competition.  Their last, and only, loss was to Division I UW-Milwaukee 5-4 September 9.  The Warhawks are ranked twenty-fourth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III national poll.

The eighteen consecutive wins extends UW-W's school record win streak, passed long ago at twelve.  Schaefer, now 27-4 at number one singles is one shy of the school record of 28, accomplished by Wendy Seymour in 1990-91 and 1991-92.  Smith, with 25 wins (25-3), is tied for sixth in the school record book for most wins at a flight other than number one, and the duo of Stensvaag and Daciolas, reaching the twenty win mark (20-4) is fifth in the record book for most wins at a flight other than number one doubles.
