The UW-Whitewater men's tennis team bounced back from a close loss on Monday to defeat Calvin College 7-2 on Tuesday in Orlando, Florida. All three doubles teams were victorious in the match. Whitewater improves to 11-7 in dual meets.
Alex Lowe (Oswego, IL/Oswego) defeated Marcus Zeilstra, who is ranked ninth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's most recent central region singles rankings, in straight sets. Lowe, ranked nineteenth in those same rankings, improves to 12-9 at the number one singles position.
Lowe knocked off another ranked opponent with his number one doubles teammate,
Kelvin Caiati (Greendale/Greendale), when they defeated Steve Demaagd and Marcus Zeilstra. DeMaagd and Zeilstra are ranked ninth in the ITA's central region doubles rankings. Lowe and Caiati are ranked eleventh.
