A contingent of UW-Whitewater wrestlers finished seventh in the Blugold Invitational in Eau Claire Saturday.
Jake Fredrickson (Woodstock, IL/Woodstock) lead the Warhawks with a second place finish at 125 pounds, contributing 15 of the 61.5 total team points. Cade Sarbacker (Mineral Point/Iowa Grant) added 11 points. Sarbacker and Reid Dickerson (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) paced the squad with two pins each. The fastest pin was recorded by Sarbacker in just 0:50 seconds. The Warhawks placed seventh out of eleven teams.
Team finishes were as followed: Augusburg 131.5, UW-Stevens Point 117.5, UW-La Crosse 76, UW-Parkside 72, UW-Eau Claire 70, Ridgewater 64, UW-Whitewater 61.5, Itasca CC 39, Luther College 31.5, Winona State 2, and UW-Milwaukee 0.

UW-Whitewater, ranked fifth in the national Division III poll, did not compete with any of its nationally-ranked wrestlers.
Next on the schedule for the Warhawks will be a meet at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville on Friday, February 13th at 8:00 pm. The WIAC Championship is set for Sunday, February 22 at UW-Oshkosh.
