The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's bowling team, ranked fifteenth according to the National Tenpin Coaches Association national poll, was defeated in both a standard five player match (932-1043) and a best of seven Baker match (2-4) by sixteenth ranked Elmhurst College.
UW-W scored 932 total pins in the standard five player match to Elmhurst's 1043. However, Whitewater took the lead in the best of seven Baker match with a first game win 212-193. Elmhurst came back and took the next two games 244-194 and 237-171. The Warhawks fought back to win a close fourth game 180-171 but Elmhurst again came back and tok the next two games 204-188 and 235-163 and the match.
The Warhawks will be travelling to Bessemer, Alabama for the Holiday Classic where they will be competing February 28 and March 1.
The next and final home meet for UW-W is scheduled for Saturday, March 7 in a rematch against Elmhurst College. The meet is to have a 10:30 am start time and will take place at the University Center Recreation Center in Whitewater, WI.
