Luther Tops Warhawks; Hanney Breaks Pool Record

Andy Hanney (Grafton/Grafton) broke the Luther pool record in the 200 backstroke but the Norse defeated the Warhawks 125-98 on Saturday.  The loss is the first for UW-W this season.

Andy Hanney (Grafton/Grafton) posted a time of 1:57.77 in the 200 yard backstroke to break the Luther pool record that was set back on January 26, 2008.  The previous record was a time of 1:57.96.

As a team the men won four events.  Kyle Stoermer (Ozark, MO/Nixa) won the 1000 freestyle in a time of 10:42.20,  Landon Joiner (Hinsdale, IL /South) won the 50 freestyle in 23.23, and Bill Stenavich (Brookfield/Central) won the 100 freestyle in 49.54.

The Warhawks set nine season best marks at the meet.

UW-W divers will travel to Terre Haute, Indiana for the Rose-Hulman Diving Invitational on December 4 and 5 while the swimmers will travel to Wheaton College for the Wheaton Invite.
