The UW-Whitewater women's soccer team recorded a 3-2 loss Wednesday night against the Principia Panthers at the Fiskum soccer complex. The loss drops the Warhawks to 9-7-1 overall and Principia moves to 9-3-1.
The Warhawks took an early lead as
Becky Cera (Wauwatosa/Wauwatosa West) scored the first goal, 24 minutes into the first half.
Emily Gerber (DeForest/DeForest) added another goal early in the second half. The Panthers responded quickly though with two goals from Rachel Publicover. A third Panther goal seven minutes later gave Principia the lead and ended the scoring for the night.
With her goal tonight, Gerber tied the record for points in a season (45). She also advanced her record for goals in a season to 22.
The Warhawk's next match is on Saturday October 24, when they travel to Menominee, WI to take on UW-Stout.
