UW-Whitewater, ranked fifth in the NCAA III poll, finished fourth in the field of thirty-one teams at the Pete Willson Invitational hosted by Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois Friday and Saturday.

Austin Bautista (Des Plaines, IL/Maine East), the number one ranked 141-pounder in Divsion III, strung five wins together to win his weight class and up his season record to 26-1. He defeated Matt Irwin of Division II University of Indianapolis by the score of 5-2 in the championship bout.
Karl Voeck (Madison/Memorial) also made it to the championship, where he lost to the number three seed, Malcom Briggs of Division II UW-Parkside by fall at 6:22. Voeck, ranked third in Division III, upped his season win total to 32-3, just two wins shy of fifteenth place in the school's record book.
UW-W 285-pounder Jon Schmidt (Menomonee Falls/Hartford)went 4-2 in the tourney to place fourth. Schmidt, number three in the national individual rankings, is 17-3.
Other placewinners for the Warhawks included Max Oldenburg (Burbank, IL/Reavis), sixth at 125 pounds and David Casper (Westby/Westby), seventh at 184 pounds. Oldenburg is 20-5 this season, Casper 18-10.
UW-W was hampered somewhat by the absence of Pat Nagel (Carpentersville, IL/Dundee-Crown) at 165. Nagel, 24-6, is ranked ninth in his weight class in the Division III ratings.
Whitewater's next match will be at home, hosting UW-Stevens Point at 7:00 in Kachel Gym of Williams Center. Whitewater is ranked fifth in the poll of NCAA III teams, UW-Stevens Point is ranked tenth. The Warhawks are 10-0 in dual meets against Division III team this season.
