UW-Whitewater, ranked fifth in the national Division III poll, won three matches Saturday in the Border Brawl in the Williams Center in Whitewater, Wisconsin.

The Border matches three teams from Wisconsin and three teams from Illinois in a series of dual matches. The Wisconsin schools did not wrestle each other, and is true for the Illinois teams. The standings follow, with ties broken by point differential.

Whitewater's Karl Voeck (Madison/Memorial), who went 3-0, was named Wisconsin Wrestler of the Meet, and Charlie Curren of Elmhurst, also 3-0 Saturday, was named Illinois Westler of the Meet.
UW-Whitewater defeated Augustana College 37-3, Chicago 26-15, and Elmhurst 24-18.
Three of Whitewater's nationally ranked wrestlers conitinued to build their resume. Austin Bautisa went 3-0 at 141 to raise his record to 26-1. Pat Nagel (Carpentersville, IL/Dundee-Crown), also 3-0 Saturday, is 24-6 at 165 pounds, and Karl Voeck (Madison/Memorial) was 3-0 for the day to up his mark to 28-3 at 197. Bautista is ranked first in Division III,, Nagel eighth, and Voeck is ranked third at 197. Jon Schmidt (Menomonee Falls/Hartford), ranked second in the 285 weight class, went 1-1, winning by fall and losing by fall. Schmidt is 15-3.
UW-W is 13-0 against Division III competition. The Warhawks will compete in the Pete Willson Invitational at Wheaton College Friday-Saturday, January 30-31. The next home competition will be Wednesday, February 4 at 7:00 in Williams Center against eighth-ranked UW-Stevens Point.
