UW-Whitewater opened play in a tournament hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois Friday with a 3-1, 25-14, 23-25, 25-15, 25-14, loss to Carthage College.  The Warhawks are ranked ninth in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III poll and Carthage is tenth. 
UW-W came back later in the evening to defeat host Illinois Wesleyan 3-0, 25-20, 25-15, 25-18. 

Sophomore Caitlin Hogan (New London/New London) led the Warhawk with ten kills, and freshman Alyssa Bauer (Naperville, IL/Central) contributed 20 digs in the Carthage match.  Stephanie Gardon (West Bend/West) had nine kills in just twelve attempts, Bauer 11 digs, and Megan Peterson (Burlington/Burlington) four blocks.

UW-W, 3-3 this season, will wrap up tourney play Saturday with matches against Eureka College (IL) and Benedictine University (IL).
