The UW-Whitewater women's tennis team improved to 2-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference after a 9-0 victory over UW-Oshkosh on Tuesday in Oshkosh. The Warhawks are now 4-1 overall while the Titans drop to 7-3.
Number one singles player
Kalla Schaefer (Madison/Madison Memorial) improved to 14-0 overall while
Annie Smith (Algonquin, IL/H.D. Jacobs) and
Michelle Daciolas (Roselle, IL/Lake Park) also remained undefeated at four and fives singles respectively.
Jenny Woyahn (Waukesha/Waukesha South) improved to 2-1 at this six singles position after a three set match with Eva Counsell. Woyahn won the first set, dropped the second, and then came on strong to win the third and deciding set.
The doubles tandem of Schaefer and
Amy Siemon (Crystal Lake, IL/Crystal Lake South) improved to 4-1 with an 8-4 victory over Jenna Abbot and Emily Bostwick.

The women's tennis team returns to action on October 4 when they travel to Wheaton, Illinois for matches against Wheaton College and North Central College. Their first match, against Wheaton, begins at 9:30 am. Their second match is scheduled to start at 1:00 pm.
The 'Hawks next home meet is on October 7 when they host UW-Stevens Point and Concordia University (Wisconsin) at 3:30 pm and 6:30 pm respectively.
