#11 ranked Warhawks sweep Aurora 3-0

In the second day of the Whitewater Invitational on Saturday, September 27, the Warhawks defeated Aurora in their first game for the day 3-0 with line scores of 26-24, 25-13, 25-16. The Warhawks are ranked eleventh in the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

The first game was a tight game all the way, with back and forth leads and scoring. Kelly Sorenson had 13 digs in game one alone.

Game two and three consisted of big leads for the Warhawks with effort from many members of the team. In the third game, the Warhawks went on a three point run to take the score from 8-6 to 11-6. The biggest lead of the third and final game was 22-14.

Leading in digs for Whitewater was Sorenson with a total of 21. Keri Klotzbuecher (Clintonville/Clintonville) had 16 kills and a hitting percentage of .444. Christina DeGroot (Kewaskum/Kewaskum) had a helping hand for 28 assists and two of the six team aces. Klotzbuecher and Alyssa Bauer (Naperville, IL/Central) also had two services aces each.

The win increases Whitewater's overall record to 12-5 and drops Aurora to 1-12. 

Whitewater will play again today at 2 p.m. Wednesday October 1, they will be at UW-LaCrosse with a 7:00 p.m start time.
