Women's Soccer Win After Four Game Losing Streak

The Warhawks traveled to Carroll University on Wednesday, September 24 and defeated Carroll with a score of 3-2. Three different Whitewater players contributed to the three goals.

The first half started out on a quick score by Carroll's Cody Callender in just 40 seconds in, making the score 0-1. Twenty-six minutes later, at 26:41, Carroll scored yet again making the score 0-2. This time it was Kendell Uttech scoring and assisted by Megan Anderson. With less than six minutes left in the first period, Whitewater's Mary Donohoo (Wauwatosa/West) scored their first goal upping the score to 2-1, with an assist by Becky Cera (Wauwatosa/Wauwatosa West).

The second period contained two more scores from Whitewater. The goal to tie the game at 2-2 was by Stephanie DesJardins (Park Ridge, IL/Main South), unassisted in the 55th minute. Less than two minutes later, Whitney Clapper (Cedarburg/Cedarburg) of Whitewater helped the team take the lead scoring the third goal, assisted by Holly U'Ren making the score 3-2.

Three players had four shots in the game. Uttech of Carroll led the field with four shots, four shots on goal and one goal. Brown led Whitewater with four shots, two on goal, and one goal.

Carroll totaled 15 shots throughout the game to Whitewater's nine. Goalkeeper, Mary Scanlin (Waunakee/Waunakee) of Whitewater had a total of five saves.

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater improves their record to 3-5-0 overall and Carroll University's overall record is now 3-4-0.

Whitewater will host UW-River Falls on Saturday, September 27 with a 1:30 start time.
