The Warhawk volleyball team defeated UW-Stout 3-0 Saturday, September 20. The number twelve ranked UW-Whitewater, according to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III poll, defeated Stout in straight sets, 25-19, 25-7, 25-17.

Liz Benzschawel (Madison/Edgewood) led Whitewater with 12 kills. Benzschawel and Melissa Zuleger (Little Chute/Little Chute) both contributed four block assists. Leading both teams, Christina DeGroot (Kewaskum/Kewaskum) had 22 assists and Alyssa Bauer (Naperville, IL/Central) added 14 digs. Right behind her with 12 digs was Keri Klotzbuecher (Clintonville/Clintonville) also with four service aces.
The Blue Devils were led by Kristie Lakatos with nine digs and Jenna Swanson with six kills.
Whitewater had 37 kills for a hitting percentage of .275 to UW-Stout's 18 kills and hitting percentage of just .136.
The Warhawks record is now 9-4 overall and 2-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Association. The Blue Devil's are now 2-10 overall and 0-2 in the WIAC.
The next game for the Warhawks will be against UW-Oshkosh on Wednesday, September 24 in the Williams Center volleyball arena at 7:00 p.m.
