The women's soccer team was defeated by Luther College on Friday, August 29, 1-4 played at Wisconsin Luther College in the weekend tournament.

The first period was full of shooting action. The total shots for the period was 15; nine for Whitewater and six for Luther. Each goal keeper saved five. Despite the many attempts from the field, the score remained 0-0.
In the 49th minute, Emily Ironside of Luther scored Luther's first goal unassisted. Less than 10 minutes later, in the 58th minute she scored Luther's second goal as well. Whitewater rallied back and Mary Donohoo (Wauwatosa/West) of Whitewater scored their first goal to bring the score to 1-2. After that, it was all Luther the rest of the way. Luther's Dani Meirick scored two more goals, one in the 76th minute and the other in the 82nd minute. The score stayed 1-4 until the end of the game.
Leading the field in shots was Luther's Ironside with a total of four, all on goal. Anna Grinde, also of Luther, was right behind her with three shots, all on goal. Luther totaled 13 shots and 12 of them were on goal.
Whitewater's Donohoo led her team with three shots, two on goal. Whitewater totaled 17 shots throughout the game. The 'Hawks record begins with 0-1 overall.
The next game for the Warhawks will be Saturday, August 30 against Wisconsin Lutheran College with a 4:00 start time.
