The second day of the two day tournament held at Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday, August 31 was a better day, where the men's team claimed a victory against Wisconsin Lutheran College with a score of 3-0.

The first period was somewhat one-sided. Whitewater's players shot 16 times, one of them resulting in a goal. The goal came early- the 8th minute. The goal was by Luke Buchholtz, assisted by Dan Montanye (Mukwonago/Mukwonago). Even though the period ended with a 1-0 score, the team was not yet done.
Just like the first period, as the second got underway, Whitewater wasted no time to once again get points on the board. Again, Buchholz scored in the 47th minute this time assisted by Luke Mangognia (Hoffman Estates, IL/Palatine). In the 66th minute, Whitewater scored their third and final goal of the game. Steve Nashleanas (Brookfield/East) helped bring the score to 3-0 with an assist by Mangognia.
Leading the field with shots was Whitewater's Brett Acree (Hoosick Falls, NY/Whitefish Bay) with five, two of them on goal. Buchholz and Mangognia contributed four shots each with three on goal for each as well.
Whitewater had a total of 35 shots in the game, 18 of them on goal. Whitewater also had ten corner kicks with six of them in the first period. Wisconsin Lutheran also received two yellow cards in the game. The 'Hawks record is now 1-0-1 overall.
Next up for the Whitewater men's team will be a match at Lakeland College on Sunday, September 6 with a 5:00 start time.
