Competing in their first ever NCAA Division III National Tournament, the Warhawk women's tennis team defeated the College of St. Scholastica 5-2 Thursday in round one of regional competition in St. Peter, Minnesota. The win moves the Warhawks on to the regional semifinal where they will face host Gustavus Adolphus College (22-8). Gustavus is ranked fifteenth in the NCAA Division III tennis poll. The Warhawks only needed to win five of nine matches to advance to the semifinals. Competitors and results from both teams follow:

All individual matches in the NCAA tournament are abandoned when a team wins the fifth and deciding point.
Woyahn improved her overall record at the six singles position to 14-3 with her straight sets victory over Shields. The duo of Fahl and Dawson improved to 9-3 overall at the number one doubles position. The win by Gering and Siemon keeps them perfect at the number three doubles slot with a record of 10-0.
The Warhawks will play Gustavus Adolphus in a match beginning at noon on Friday, May 2. The winner will face the winner of the match between Wheaton College and Coe College in the finals on Saturday, May 3. The winner of the finals will advance to the finals of the NCAA team championship that is also held at Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter, Minnesota.
