UW-Whitewater topped New York-Fredonia 10-2 Monday in Fort Myers, Florida. The Warhawks, with their biggest offensive output of the season, upped their mark to 4-1.
Lauren Rankins (Marengo, IL/Marengo) drove in four runs and
Jessie Harmeyer (Muskego/Muskego) scattered three hits and did not give up an earned run for the UW-W. Whitewater scored in five of the six innings, including a four-run first that gave UW-W a lead it never surrendered.
UW-Whitewater is scheduled to play Saint Olaf College (MN) and DePauw University (IN) Wednesday in Fort Myers. The first home doubleheader is scheduled for April 2, with Lawrence University visiting for a 3:00 start. A reminder that all UW-W home games this year will be played on the diamond near Wells Hall, as UW-W's outdoor athletic complex undergoes a transformation.
