The Warhawks were limited to three hits, all singles by junior righthander Todd Mathison.  A leadoff triple by Josh Maus and run scoring single by Carson Jones in the first inning provided all the offense Saint Olaf would need.  SOC would added three more in the second and one in the fourth to finish the scoring.

The pitcher's duel of the first game last one inning of game two, before Saint Olaf scored twice in the top of the second to take a lead.  SOC scored two more in the third to go up 4-0, but Jeff Donovan (Wauwatosa/Wauwatosa East)'s three run homer in the bottom of the third was the big blow as UW-W tied it 4-4.  Saint Olaf scored single runs in the fourth and fifth to lead 6-4, but Whitewater got one back in the bottom of the sixth with a Kevin Zalnis (Woodstock, IL/Woodstock) double and Ben Prather (Chicago, IL/James B. Conant) RBI single.  One more in the top of the seventh put Saint Olaf in front 7-5.

Joe Munn (Pleasanton, CA/Pleasanton) doubled to lead off the bottom of the seventh, but the next two hitters went down, leaving UW-W trailing by two with two outs in the final inning.  Zalnis came through again, singling in Munn to cut the deficit to 7-6, Prather provided another RBI single to tie the game 7-7, and with the bases loaded Jordan Stine (Merrill/Merrill) stroked the game winning single..  Munn, Zalnis and Prather were 3x4, and Jeff Donovan (Wauwatosa/Wauwatosa East) knocked in three runs for the Warhawks.  Greg Donovan (Wauwatosa/Wauwatosa East) picked up the win in relief.

UW-W, 7-2 and in the "others receiving votes" category of the national Division III poll, will play Division II Saint Cloud State University Saturday, March 29 at 9:00 in the Metrodome in Minneapolis.  The first home game for the Warhawks is set for April 5, with a twinbill versus UW-Oshkosh set to begin at 12:00 at Prucha Field.
