Six Season Bests in La Crosse Meet

UW-Whitewater recorded six season best performances in a 142-99 loss to UW-La Crosse in Mitchell Hall in La Crosse, Wisconsin Saturday afternoon.

Kyle Boers (Madison/East) won both of the diving events for UW-W, scoring 264.55 points on the one meter boards and a season best 250.65 on the three meter board.  Matt Mintz (Hinsdale, IL/Central) had a hand in two wins as well, touching first in the 1000 freestyle in a team season best 10:10.09, and swimming the leadoff leg of the winning 200 freestyle relay.  Joining Mintz on the relay were Eric Nord (Hales Corner/Whitnall), Matt Wiswell (Monona/Monona Grove/McFarland), and Nate Glover (Milton/Milton), timed in 1:32.71.

Other team season best performances were turned in by Nord in the 200 freestyle (1:50.66), John Sedgwick (Janesville/Milton) in the 200 individual medley (2:06.43), and Jeff Bridwell (Madison/West) in the 200 breaststroke (2:28.75).  Sedgwick and Glover were joined by Andy Hanney (Grafton/Grafton) and Mike Huffman (Palatine, IL/Palatine) on the 400 medley relay, another season best at 3:48.99.

UW-W's next competition is the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship Thursday-Saturday, February 21-23, at UW-Oshkosh.
